April Donaldson started her professional career working in children’s mental health as a clinician and soon after transitioned into education, teaching in the public school system for over 10 years. Along with her faith in God, she credits her background in mental health as making her a better teacher and parent.

After being diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the height of the pandemic in February 2020, she decided to write a children's book to encourage her young son and other children dealing with really hard things that God made them strong on the inside, where it matters most. This book is a visual reminder that God has given all of us everything we need to get through the tough times to brighter days! The author uses colorful and imaginative illustrations that appeal to child’s spirit and playfulness to address the various challenges that life sometimes brings their way.
